I use a lot of abbreviations, especially when I'm talking about Role-playing so here's a list of the more common abbreviations that you'll see appear.
IC In Character, the post where you are talking/acting as your character.
OOC Out of Character; post in which you are talking/acting as yourself. You prolly should only limit this to areas labled for such stuff.
NPCs Non-Playable Characters; these are characters that are not controlable for you, as the player. One can usually make these up, but you're responsible. Also, no killing of NPC's unless you have the OK to do so.
That's all I can think up of now. If I think of any more, I'll add 'em.
