The next day arrives, and once again you are shown to Skyla's room, this time by a beautiful young Dryaid. She takes you to the room, curties then leaves.
Once again you walk into the crowded room, but this time Skyla is pacing the room looking at a large green bound book. When she hears the door open, she looks up.
"Oh, it's you again. This time I'm a bit more prepared," she says with a chuckle. "Please, have a seat." She gestures towards the chair you had used yesterday. As you sit, Skyla flips through the book.
"Well, as you saw, I was going through this here book," she syas as she closes it and sets it upon the large desk. "That is the book of Tumnus the Faun. He's a great friend of Queen Lucy. Apparently he was the first person that she met when she first came to Narnia. But, I'm getting ahead of myself.
"Now, starting where we left off yesterday. Hm....oh, yes, many years past from King Frank and Queen Helen. Their children and their children's children became great kings and queens of Narnia and Archenland.
"Then, something happened. We're not sure exactly what, but the major theory is that many of the Narnians turned away from Aslan. My thinking is that he never came around any more, thus they began to believe that he didn't exist. Of course, there's also the explianation that Narnia was in a state of chaos after one of the Kings or Queens died without leaving an heir to the throne.
"But, whatever the reason was, the unthinkable happened....Jadis returned. No only did she return, but she returned with a vengence. She used all the magic she possesed and the many allies she had gathered and took over Narnia. Here is where she gained the title of the White Witch. She changed the entire land of Narnia so that it was always winter, yet never Christmas.
"Now, I am a mere 86 years old, so I actualy was alive for most of her terrible reign. My mother told me of the great war that had happened when the Witch came. Many loyal Narnians died, including her parents.
"There were certain prophesies that the Centaurs gave to the people to give them hope. The first prophesy concerned the return of Aslan as well as the fall of the White Witch. It goes as follows:
Skyla gave a small sigh. "How many times did we recite that verse during that long and dreadful reign? Hmph...too many to recall, I'll tell you that. Anyways, the second prophesy was told by the Centaur that predicted the first only a year or two later. It talks about the four thrones at Cair Paravel. No one really knows why there were four, but ah well. The prophesy said:
Skyla chuckled slightly as she remembered certain memories. "Even though my famliy were originally from Archenland, my mother, father and I still had to go inot hiding for fear the White Witch would hunt us down. Those were scary times, lemme tell you.
"Anyways, many years passed; 100 to be exact. Suddenly, rumours that Aslan had returned to Narnia began to spread like a wildfire. Of course, we had to be careful to whom we told for the Witch had spies everywhere.
"Soon after that, another rumour that four humans had entered the land. Oh, you coulnd't possibly imagine what hope and joy that filled us. No only Aslan had returned, but the Humans had come as well. Heh, now, I'm not one to believe everything that I hear, but I believed for I saw Father Christmas and the snow had begun to melt.
"I traveled with several others to the Stone Table where the camp of Aslan was. There...I saw him. I can't eve describe to you what he looks like, for I feel that it wouldn't do him justice.
"I'm sorry, I've been rambling about my own little history. Oh, and our time is over already. No matter. Next time, I'll tell you all about the Children tomorrow...."

Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again."
